MISSION STATEMENT FOR FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH - THE "BUNKER"
The "Bunker”, an outreach ministry offered by First Baptist Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas. This website is designed to address the specific needs of our returning Veterans and their families.
This ministry specifically focuses on Christian values, while meeting the physical and emotional needs of our veterans and their families.
The “Bunker” provides a safe, non-judgmental environment, where veterans and their families converge to experience warm hospitality offered by facilitators that honor and respect, the unselfish sacrifices these men and women made for our country.
The “Bunker” has an engaged focus on ministering to the specific needs of each veteran; while at the same time, understanding the uncertainty veterans and their families face when making the transition to civilian life. Veteran concerns addressed in this ministry are not limited to but include; finance, housing, legal, social integration, health, addiction and recovery issues. The mission of the “bunker” is to emphasize that Christian healing and peace offered by Christ Jesus is available to anyone that pursues and accepts Him
Our Lord’s promise: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10.
Finally, the philosophy adhered to by Theodore Roosevelt is one of the core premises of the “Bunker” ministry;
“No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care”
